  2.    INSTALLING ASTROSCAN V1.5                3/7/1998

  4.    Astroscan is intended to be used with Windows 95. 
  5.  
  6.    Astroscan installs automatically with the built-in
  7.    setup wizard. The user has the option of making a
  8.    copy of the Astroscan icon by dragging it from
  9.    the folder to the desktop.
  10.  
  11.    Astroscan can be installed in Windows 3.1 but
  12.    the user will need to exit the program in order
  13.    to print chartwheels. The applet WinGif must be
  14.    run from the ascan15 folder/directory, and the
  15.    wheel.gif (or pcx) file must be loaded by the
  16.    user from File in WinGIf. 
  17.  
  18.    The main start-up executive file that runs Astroscan
  19.    is  ASCAN15.EXE
  20.  
  21.    Astroscan should be installed in a directory/folder
  22.    named ASCAN15 on path C:\ for best results.

  27.    INSTALLING IN WINDOWS 95
  28.  
  29.    After unzipping ASCAN-15.ZIP the following 3 files
  30.    should be extracted:
  31.  
  32.    1. ASCAN-15.EXE
  33.    2. FILE_ID.DIZ
  34.    3. ASCAN15.TXT
  35.    4. INSTALL.TXT
  36.  
  37.    Use Run in the START menu of the Windows 95 Desktop
  38.    and browse over to the folder where these files
  39.    reside.
  40.  
  41.    1. Read text files 3 and 4.
  42.  
  43.    2. Select ASCAN-15.EXE and run it.
  44.       This will start the setup wizard and extract all
  45.       the Astroscan files into the \ASCAN15 folder. 
  46.  
  47.    3. When done, double-click on the ASCAN15 icon
  48.       to start Astroscan.
  49.  
  50.    !!!  VERY IMPORTANT  !!!
  51.  
  52.    Always, exit Astroscan with "Exit" in the Main menu or
  53.    with the hot key "Q" in View All mode, otherwise
  54.    all configurations during the session will be lost.

  59.    CREATING AN ASTROSCAN ICON ON THE DESKTOP:
  60.  
  61.    Over the background of the Windows 95 Desktop,
  62.    click the right mouse button, select "New",
  63.    select "Shortcut", select Browse, double-click
  64.    on folder ASCAN15, double-click on ASCAN15.
  65.    Select "Change Icon" under "Program" Tab in the
  66.    Properties section, browse to C:\ASCAN15 and
  67.    select ASCAN15.ICO.

  71.    Select NEW in FILE of MENU in the Program Manager.
  72.    Create a group for Astroscan.

  74.    Create an item using NEW ITEM. Type in the name
  75.    "Ascan15" and the fill in the properties:
  76.    Command path as C:\ASCAN15\ASCAN15.EXE, and the
  77.    working directory path as C:\ASCAN15.

  79.    Change the icon with browse and select ASCAN15.ICO
  80.    in C:\ASCAN15.
